What Do Volunteers Do at Under the Sun Cafe?

If you volunteer you might greet people and mingle at concerts and events, run food to tables from the kitchen, refill drinks, check on diner’s needs, answer questions, assist with dishwashing and cleaning, manage the free book area or help guests with computer usage.

 

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone! The only requirement is a friendly and loving attitude and a willingness to jump in with both hands and feet. We’re not here to preach to guests – we’re here to show them Christ through our service!  You will be asked to participate in some basic hospitality and health and safety training.

How many hours can I volunteer?

We welcome your help as often as you are available. Our schedule is set up for 4-hour shifts with shorter time frames available if needed.

We also are looking for people who can teach a class on a topic you know or love; anything ranging from knitting to painting to computer skills or lead life skills classes or studies. And you may have other suggestions for ways you can help - we look forward to hearing from you!
